One of Britain's favorite cakes. Victoria Sponge is said to have been the favorite sponge cake of Queen Victoria. Layered with strawberry jam and vanilla Buttercream,  dusted with confectioners' sugar, this unfussy sponge cake makes for a simple and elegant dessert.
